The Maldives correctional service has signed an agreement with Zetta Technologies to introduce Axon body-worn cameras (Axon Body 2 & Axon Body 3) for prison officers. Zetta Enterprises is the exclusive distributor of Axon products in the Maldives and Sri Lanka. The agreement was signed by the Commissioner of Prisons, Ahmed Mohamed Fulhu and Zetta Technologies Managing Director Mohamed Aiman Adam.
The Maldives Correctional Service welcomed the introduction of this modern technology, noting that it will ensure compliance with best practices and serves to protect both the officers and inmates. The utilization of body worn cameras is expected to increase transparency, improve safety of detainees, and ensure the well-being of the prison officers.
